On the square there is also the one dozen Opera Bastille and the contact dublin Bastille (Paris Metro)/Bastille subway station.
The square is a popular venue for Parisians and tourists, and it is often home to concerts and other such events. The area northeast of bastille has a lively nice hen night life, with many cafés, bars, night clubs, and concert halls.
